Restaurante Golden Kitchen

San Francisco de Heredia

A site for Golden Kitchen, a traditional and fast-food restaurant in Plaza Alicia, San Francisco de Heredia: breakfasts, lunches, fried chicken, and Chinese food. Its entire printed menu, 41 dishes in their 8 groups, rebuilt as menu boards in the colors and typeface of the restaurant's own menu, where every dish is added with one tap and the takeout order arrives on WhatsApp ready to go, with a pickup time. Up top, a status line that says, in Costa Rica time, whether it's open right now.

Restaurant

The printed menu, complete and priced

All 41 dishes on its menu, in the same 8 groups and names, on dark boards with gold tabs like the pages of the printed menu, with sticky categories up top to jump from breakfast to Chinese food. Prices carry a visible date, the menu is written into the HTML at build time, so it reads even without JavaScript, and every price is checked against a second transcription.

From craving to takeout order, no phone call

A '+' on each dish builds the order; the order sheet asks for a pickup time, in 30-minute slots computed from the real schedule, and a name, then shows the exact message as a WhatsApp bubble before sending. The restaurant confirms the total, so the site never quotes a number that could be wrong.

Open now, in Costa Rica time

The hero says whether it's open right now and until when, always computed in Costa Rica time wherever the visitor is; the menu flags what's served at that hour and the schedule highlights today. The palette comes from the pixels of its menu and sign, its icons were redrawn in SVG, and every photo is of the restaurant and its food, not a single stock image.
